(1943) steel cent planchet strip measuring 3.75 X 5.75 inches. The strip is the leftovers from the blanking process, which the planchets having been punched out of this strip of steel metal. Many years ago a great deal of steel cent strip was scraped by the mint, and eventually this web strip made it's was onto the market and sold to collectors. Much of it had been somewhat abused, being exposed to the outdoors, etc, and so virtually all of it has some corrosion or rust as does the piece being offered here.
A very neat item, and historic in nature with it's connection to the war time 1943 steel cents, and also being the only year Lincoln cents were struck in steel.
