1c 1991 Lincoln Cent Elliptical Strike Clip MS-64 Red

An elliptical strike clip, with the coin showing a typical "oval" shape. The error occurred when the coin was struck while overlapping a "stiff" (non-moving) collar die, resulting in part of the coin being cut-off. As can be seen in one of the photos, part of the edge has the sheared-off appearance, with the zinc showing.

This error type is only known on cents from 1990-1994, and probably was caused by some variation in the collar die which allowed it to sometimes shear coins in half. Fairly scarce.
