1c Zinc Lincoln Cent 70% Off-Center on Pre-Strike Damaged Planchet MS-62 Red

This is a very nice example of a cent struck on a damaged planchet before strike. The coin is struck 70% off-center, which allows for the pre-strike damage to be seen in its "unstruck" state! The off-center portion overlaps the damage, proving that it did in fact occur before strike. The obverse design is zinc-colored because the underlying pre-strike damage resulted in much of the copper having been scrapped off the planchet's surface. A great looking coin, and very scarce like this!
