No-date Ike Dollar struck on a clad Kennedy half dollar planchet, and is a wrong planchet error. These are very scarce, and they appear on the market for sale only a few times a year. This is an affordable example because there is no date present, and also it is in an average mint state grade. High grade examples sell for much more. This coin would make an excellent type set example for someone with limited resources.
The error occurred when a half dollar planchet was accidentally fed into a press strike Eisenhower dollars and was struck, creating a coin with the design of an Ike dollar but the planchet of a half dollar. There is no reeding on the edge because the half dollar planchet was too small to fill the collar die and receive a reeding impression.
