NGC 1945 Mercury dime struck on a silver Netherlands East Indies 1/10 Gulden blank. The coin is struck on the smaller silver Netherlands 1/10 Gulden blank, which was accidentally fed into a minting press that was striking 1945 Mercury dimes, and when struck, resulted in this coin.
A rare wrong planchet error, with less than a dozen Mercury dime off-metals known for the series. Only the 2nd Mercury dime wrong planchet error we have handled, and very tough to find with so few known. A WWII era wrong planchet error, and so more desirable.
NGC MS64 with light toning and lustrous surfaces.
