NGC 1c 1928 Lincoln Cent on Silver Dime Planchet Off-MetalF-12

This is a 1928 Lincoln wheat cent which is struck on a 2.4 gram silver dime planchet. The off-metal occurred when a dime planchet was fed into a press striking 1928 wheat cents and was struck, creating a coin with the metal of a dime but the design of a cent. Cents on dimes prior to 1943 are much scarcer than the later dates, although of the earlier dates 1928 is one of the more often found. Still very scarce.
