This is a (1960-1964-D) Washington quarter which is struck on a Lincoln cent planchet. The "196" of the date are visible, but the last digit is missing. Because the "D" mintmark is on the reverse, it has to be a 1960-1964 dated coin. The 1960's quarters on cent planchets are the most attractive because of the quarter's higher relief, which adds eye-appeal compared to the later date quarters. Scarce error type.
