NGC 1970-D Washington quarter is struck on top of a Roosevelt dime, and is a double-denomination 35c piece. There are obvious traces of the underlying dime, including the very prominent display of "LIBERTY" on the obverse in front of Washington's face. Traces of design are visible elsewhere, and also the coin has a fully reeded edge.
Rare, with very few examples known. This is one of just a couple we've ever had in stock.
NGC MS-64 with lustrous surfaces. The "white" areas on the coin are almost all just "stretched" areas of metal from the metal flow, and are nothing else.
