NGC 50c 1962-D Franklin Half Struck Through and Retained Steel Wire Bristle VF-35

SOLD

This 1962-D Franklin half dollar is struck through a steel wire bristle (sometimes called a "staple") on it's obverse, with the steel bristle retained in the coin's metal. The bristle is perfectly positioned in front of Ben Franklin's face, which makes it very eye-catching. A rare error type on Franklin halves, and very few are known.
