NGC (1867-1883) shield nickel struck 35% off-center at 4 o'clock. The coin is a rare major off-center, and is in a high mintstate grade--both of which are a very rare combination on shield nickels. The coin shows a lot of planchet and design, giving it excellent eye-appeal.  

Few off-centers are known that are struck more than 20% off, and most of those are damaged, badly cleaned, or otherwise impaired. This coin is none of those things, and is a superb example.

MS64 with lustrous surfaces with a hint of toning. Beautiful coin, and a high grade for the series.
