NGC 5c 1906 Liberty Nickel on Cent Planchet MS61 BN

NGC 1906 Liberty nickel struck on a copper cent planchet. The coin is struck on the copper planchet intended for striking into an Indian head cent, but which made it into the press and was struck into a 1906 Liberty nickel.

A scarce off-metal type, and popular due to it's being such an obvious off-metal type, being copper instead of nickel and also smaller than a normal nickel. There are around 75 known for the Liberty nickel series.

MS61 Brown nice luster, and just some hairlines on the high points accounting for the lower mintstate grade.
