PCGS $1 1879-S Morgan Dollar Obverse Huge Strike Through MS-62

Huge strike through on the coin's obverse, and quite deep. The strike through's position is perfect, being nicely centered across Ms.Liberty's face for maximum eye-appeal. The strike through is probably a large wood chip, which is the material used for drying the planchets. Coins are known with the wood retained in the coin, which is also how it's known that's what these often are. The PCGS tag says "lamination" but we disagree completely. Although strike throughs are relatively common on Morgan dollars, large ones like this, and centered so perfectly are scarce.
