PCGS 1847-O Liberty quarter eagle terminal die state reverse, with a huge crack that is long and thick. Terminal die states are the final stage of a die's working life, when the die is starting to breakdown, and will be retired from minting coins. Often, dies do not get to this final stage, being retired before they start breaking down (breaking down meaning the die starts to form many major die cracks, cuds, and the design becomes weak and worn to the extreme.)
