PCGS 1903 Liberty nickel off-metal struck on a cent planchet. The coin is struck on a copper Indian cent planchet, and so is the weight and metal of a copper cent.
Liberty nickels on cents are scarce, with probably 50-75 known. This example is a high grade in terms of having sharp design detail, although it is moderately cleaned, and so it is much less expensive than a problem-free AU, which would be about $4,500+.
AU detail cleaned, with the coin having light hairlines. The coin is a blue/brown color, and overall has decent eye-appeal.
